A Sharper Edge Farms

Raising Myotonic Goats and Poultry

Welcome to A Sharper Edge Farms!

I raise quality Myotonic Goats here at A Sharper Edge. Myotonic "fainting" goats have a very muscular frame and a high meat to bone ratio of 4:1. That is much higher than other breeds. Most have been selectively bred to be smaller for "pet" goat purposes. They come in many colors and color combinations but most are black and white. We have been putting together does that have different color combinations and that have blue or marbled eyes. We look forward to sharing this unique heritage breed with others and do plan to milk a select few. I have goat milk soap available for purchase made right here at our farm. You are welcome to contact me to place an order. I do accept PayPal and will ship!

I have various types of chickens available at all times and also raise quail and ducks. The birds are raised to improve each variety as well as to feed my family with meat and eggs. Hatch day is always my favorite! If only I had a larger chicken barn... maybe an extra pole barn should be in my future. My current barn houses 100= birds at any given time.

News and Updates

Winter of 2016 we started a herd of La Manchas and I upgraded to a milk machine! I offer Goat Milk Shares with Shady Green Acres!

Fall 2015 will be exciting! I have added a buckling with several permanent grand champions in his pedigree and will be using him on some of our does. 2016 kids should be exciting! "Whiskey" will mature to be large so will add mass to our program.

As of September 2015, all of my poultry breeding groups have been separated except for select ones. I do still have birds available for purchase. Any that are culls will not be sold. I am adding some exciting new additions that I can't wait to share with you and need to make a bit of room in the poultry barn. Pairs of Jubilee Orpingtons are available for purchase!
